GOD ALONE

In whom is your righteousness?

KJV: Romans 3:10. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

KJV: Galatians 2:21. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Heb 4:12 (although I wish this person would have the courage to use his/her real name) mentioned in his/her last comment the influence of The Bridge is Out. We are giving honour to whom honour is due – glory to God only and recognizing the fallibility of mankind.

Did you know that your pastor is FALLIBLE? So are you and I. To place unquestioning faith in a man, as many commentators on this blog appear to do, is dishonouring God. The Almighty God is the only One Whose Word should never be questioned. You are indeed correct to question my word, Travis' word and the word of anyone else, but question every man equally because we are all equal in the eyes of God – equally dispicable, equally human, equally under the Blood of Christ and equally forgiven of Christ. If you never question your pastor's word, you are giving him the honour that is due only to the LORD. This is tantamount to having another god before you. You serve a jealous God; be careful that He alone receives the honour of being counted righteous and blameless.

KJV: Exodus Chapter 20

[1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

KJV: Psalms Chapter 36

[1] The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
[2] For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
[3] The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
[4] He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

There is a root cause of every problem. The root of the problems discussed on TBIO is the paradigm encouraged by the leadership of a church, honouring one man far above what any man deserves. If we give God all the honour that is due Him and see mankind as sinful as it really is, we show that we believe the scriptures that tell us there is none righteous, our righteousness is as filthy rags, Christ is our righteousness, and that God is no respecter of persons. We have no reason to – no, rather we are commanded not to honour one man above another. God is Sovereign, and the moment we recognize that, we will see that no man is above reproach.

We place our trust in God. God alone is above reproach and unquestionable.

God alone.

Did you know?
In the 2004 PVBC rule book that the following were mentioned this many times:
Financial - 4
Support - 10
Contribute - 2
Contribution - 1
Tithes - 1
Compensation - 1
Expenditure - 3
Assets - 2
Earnings - 1
You can lose your membership by not contributing financially to the pvbc.
and that...
"4. The dismissal of a pastor may take place at any regular business meeting or at a special busincss mccting callcd by the moderator or clerk. A three- fourths (3/4) vote by ballot of
the members present shall be nccessary for the dismissal of a pastor." So anyone that isn't on church disciple but isn't inactive, go back to pvbc, give financially, then you have the right to vote Sulllivant out.

Anonymous said...

Interesting. Maybe people that are considering removing their membership, should wait so they get the chance to vote their Pastor out.

Heb 4:12 said...

Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Isa.1o:1 ¶ Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
This verse sounds like the creators of this blog.
And to those that don't like the verses from Hebrews, It seems that you don't like it when people love and honor the under shepherd the Lord has given them, it is HIS gift to the church not just the PVBC, but any church that has a pastor who preaches the Word in season and out of season, and preaches against sin and stands for righteousness. Eph.4:11-16
And Melanie, Psalm 36 sounds more like a personal testimony.
And if you would keep reading in Exodus, God judged those that spoke against HIS Servant.
If you have a problem with authority you have a problem with God. Rom.13 Heb. 13

Heb.4:12 said...

Hmmm. Did I strike a nerve?

Melanie said...

Heb 4:12, you didn't strike a nerve. I would just prefer discussing things with someone who will use his/her real name.

Love and honour your shepherd when he is right is all I'm saying. Don't elevate him to the position where he is untouchable. Even you must agree that his righteousness is as rags before God, just like yours and mine.

No more discussion with you until you use your real name or contact me personally.

So the only people that have stories on here are Travis Peters and Melanie Weins?

This should be a warning to all who come on here that there are a hand full of people that are trying to prove to the world that they are better then the people at the PVBC.

Anonymous said...

Lets keep in mind and in prayer the people who are currently writing their stories.

The list is over 100 people, no one is better then anyone.

I find it amazing that everyone who differs with PMS is WRONG and he is ALWAYS right, that a statistical impossibility and shows that PMSers are incapable of thinking logically.

Everyone is FINALLY coming out of the woodworks and fighting for the truth, so hold on tight!

I know of more than just a hand full of people who have stories of their own. The problem is that most have family attending PVBC and are afraid to loose them by posting their own stories. I pray that the rest of you may find the courage to come out with the truth.
To those still attending, and can see clearly there is something wrong, please follow your heart, this man needs to be stopped. The truth will set you free.

Yes it would be very nice if people had the ....nerve to (I have to use nice language in here)use the real name and not the easy non- backbone way to sign in.

Heb.4:12 said...

Psalm 140:1-8, " Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8 ¶ Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah."
Be careful when you accuse a blessed man (Psalm 1:1).

Travis said...

Heb 4:12:
Throughout the Psalms, it's clear that the wicked man seems blessed throughout his life, but his end is terrible.

Mike Sullivant is no more blessed than any of the rest of us can be. Like most of us, his 'blessing' is of his own making: sweat equity and reaping what he's sown. I'll wager he's more than disappointed that some of his crop has soured.

The pedestal you have put him on will crumble eventually.

*If anyone is interested in attending PVBC this Wednesday night, April 6th at 7:30, Pastor will be addressing the recent rumors.*

Anonymous said...

Get your facts right. It was never stated in church that he was addressing recent rumors. He said he was addressing church matters...not rumors. My goodness. You can't even get that one tidbit of info right. Why should anything else on here be believed?

Anonymous said...

"*If anyone is interested in attending PVBC this Wednesday night, April 6th at 7:30, Pastor will be addressing the recent rumors.*"

Pastor Who?

Anonymous said...

Sullivant I believe...

Anonymous said...

What was actually announced was
"Due to recent rumors about Pastor Sullivant and the church, Pastor will be addressing church matters."

Anonymous said...

Will this be addressed at a member's meeting, or during the public service?

Anonymous said...

It was announced that Pastor S. was going to be taking the wednesday evening service to address the rumors (church matters, for those who don't like the word "rumor")...blah blah blah. So it sounded like a public service. But it would not surprise me if he changed his mind to make it a members only.

Anonymous said...

It Is a church service so there will not be a discussion.

FYI. It is illegal to interrupt a church service. If you have questions ask a pastor or deacon.

See for yourselves that the church and leadership have nothing to hide.

Beth said...

Is it really illegal to "interrupt" a church service? or you just trying to say that so that no-one can question the pastor. And if it is illegal to interrupt a service what does that really mean. Someone walking in/out of the service, someone asking questions. Your comment makes it very clear that no one is allowed to publicly question the pastor. This is where all of the problems have arisen. Questions asked in private resulting in people being shunned and rumors spread about them publicly. The pastor should be taking questions from people in and "out" of the church publicly.
Remember that is church is a "public" building. Its purpose is to be open to the public, not a members' only club. At least according to the Bible.

Beth

If you are a member of the Church then you can ask Questions Publicly at a business meeting there is nothing wrong with that. If you are not scheduled to speak at a public function and you disturb that service you can be charged with Breach of Peace.

If there is a question and answer time then anyone may speak, if not then you are in Breach of Peace

section 30 of the Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) states

"30. Every one who witnesses a breach of the peace is justified in interfering to prevent the continuance or renewal thereof and may detain any person who commits or is about to join in or to renew the breach of the peace, for the purpose of giving him into the custody of a peace officer, if he uses no more force than is reasonably necessary to prevent the continuance or renewal of the breach of the peace or than is reasonably proportioned to the danger to be apprehended from the continuance or renewal of the breach of the peace."

does that answer the question? if you need more info go to:

Just what we need. Christians taking other Christians to court.

Anonymous said...

You'd be hard pressed to find a cop that would charge someone with Breach of the Peace for raising their hand and politely asking a question or two. Perhaps if they were shouting and swearing, but saying someone would get charged for asking PMS a question during a service is just wishful thinking.

Danselle said...

Breach of Peace? In church? Come on! What a waste of the cops time. Bet you they would tell you the same thing.

Heb 4:12 said...

To Travis, so I can assume you are feeling blessed? seeing that the wicked are blessed throughout their life.

Anonymous said...

Good grief people, get a life.

God says he lets it rain on the just and the unjust, so that all men may see and know his goodness.so God does not just bless the just.1 Timothy 1 vs 8 says:we know that the law is good if one uses it properly.vs 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious ; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers. vs 10 For adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine. vs 11 that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God,which he entrusted me. Who are we ? Are we not his righteous ?

Anonymous said...

They always find a way (Breach of Peace) don't they? It's such a laugh. It seems Mr. Sullivant has it all figured out.

Tell me.. why do the members call him Pastor instead of Pastor Sullivant?

A Modern Day Zealot said...

Why even bother with the Title Pastor? Has he earned this title ? overrated place of self esteem. if so how and why ? Those of you that think you are so self righteous are annoying those of us that "are righteous". What's up with these blogs and not posting what people have to say? Who's the Judge ?

I will proudly stand up for my faith and God whom i believe in soley, God sent his ONLY son to DIE for me, i fear no man and i do not fear death. I will proclaim my faith as a human believer to my last breath and rejoice as a believer in heaven for eternity, nothing that anyone can say or do to me will make me renounce my faith in God. The threats of punishment for me stating what i believe in are meaningless and hold no jurisdiction in the eyes of God.
Acts 3:16
And his name through FAITH in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the FAITH which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
1 Corinthians 2:5
That your FAITH should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

For by grace are ye saved through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your FAITH is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Philippians 2:17
Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your FAITH, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
2 Corinthians 4:13
We having the same spirit of FAITH, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Luke 22:32
But I have prayed for thee, that thy FAITH fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your FAITH in Christ.
1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in FAITH, in purity.
2 Thessalonians 1:11
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of FAITH with power:
2 Timothy 3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through FAITH which is in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your FAITH, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Matthew 21:21
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have FAITH, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Matthew 17:20
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have FAITH as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

And the Lord said, If ye had FAITH as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in FAITH, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of FAITH, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

We put our trust in God alone but trusting that He also supplies our undershepherds is not to be ignored. Remember that they look after your souls and that it should not be a grievous thing for them to do according to the writer of Hebrews. That being said, I am an "IFB" pastor and I myself was rescued by God's grace from the dark-side of IFBsim. My Dad was a graduate from Hyles Anderson where they bread these kind of pastors and somehow (by the Grace of God) God moved me from that. I pastor a small church where people know to check the pastor out. Just because there are some "IFB'ers" that are jerks doesn't mean that the idea of fundamentalism is wrong. Don't be so knee jerk. Call out P Sullivant for his sin but don't dub the whole idea of fundamentalism by him. It is like saying that Election is an unbiblical doctrine because Luther held to it and everyone knows Luther loved his Witenburge beer :)

Just let everyone here know that Harry is not the new spokesman for PVBC - He speaks for himself and himself alone. This is absolute proof that people post anything on this blog they jolly well feel like, without any concern truth, facts, fiction, or fantasy.
